Salary: £44,500 per annum, pro-rated, plus excellent benefits

Alert is seeking a Head of International Institutions in Alert’s Peacebuilding Issues Programme (PIP).  The successful applicant will lead Alert’s policy and advocacy engagement related to international institutions with a particular focus on multilateral development banks. The position requires high-level communication skills, an ability to develop strategic relationships and effectively influence individuals and institutions.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the programme’s current growth trajectory through continuing to secure new programme and project opportunities. An understanding of peacebuilding and conflict-sensitivity will be essential as will a demonstrated understanding of how international organisations operate in fragile and conflict-affected situations.  Applicants will need a capacity to undertake research, policy analysis and demonstrate an ability to develop plans and strategies. Collaboration with other areas within PIP and across Alert will be essential. The successful applicant will work closely with the PIP management team on strategic planning, coordination and priority setting. This role will involve the management of a Programme Officer.  Applicants must be educated to post-graduate degree level in a relevant subject (or with equivalent work experience).
