In 2015 the NICHE programme has been extended with a new modality ‘the Joint initiatives’. A Joint initiative must be a follow-up to a NICHE project ended in 2015 or earlier. A Joint initiative aims to further strengthen higher education and TVET capacity in partner countries. It creates opportunities for organisations to continue their cooperation after they have finished a NICHE project. This continuation should lead to a sustainable partnership based on shared interests.
