Participate (until September 14) in the online consultation on the Netherlands’ food security policy

The Food & Business Knowledge Platform has started a consultation on the Netherlands’ food security policy. We warmly invite you to participate and provide your input for the new food security policy paper to be published by the Dutch government by the end of 2014.

The Dutch Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Economic Affairs are working together to produce a policy paper on food security, which they will send to the Dutch Parliament before the end of 2014. The ministries have asked the Food & Business Knowledge Platform to organize a public online consultation on Dutch food security policy to gather inputs from all those directly or indirectly connected with one or more aspects of Dutch food security policy.

The aim of the consultation is to gather opinions and visions of actors working on food security to help shape current and future Dutch policy in this area. The consultation is organized around five themes derived from the international food security targets of the Zero Hunger Challenge. These serve as an entry point for an open online conversation.

Your contribution to the consultation would be very welcome and can help to shape this new policy.

About this knowledge platform

The Food & Business Knowledge Platform aims to strengthen knowledge-sharing, research and innovation in the field of food and nutrition security. Nearly one-eighth of the world’s population suffers from chronic hunger and, with that population projected to reach nine billion in 2050, the secure supply of affordable and good quality food is a growing challenge.
