Duration:          7 Months (August 2015-March 2016) with the possibility for extension

Alert is requesting ‘Expressions of Interest’ from qualified and experienced project managers with expertise in security and peacebuilding in conflict-affected countries or countries undergoing transition, in particular Tunisia, North Africa and/or the Middle East. The assignment is for 7 months, beginning August 2015 – with the possibility of an extension thereafter.

The main purpose of the role is to manage and expand our Borders for All Project in Tunisia. This project seeks to support inclusive and collaborative security governance, by increasingTunisian government ownership and implementation of community engagement approaches to border security.

The Consultant would be responsible for the management of the project and the support of the expansion of Alert’s work on security sector reform and community engagement in border security.

These tasks would include:

  • Strategic development
  • Project and Grants management
  • Project design, monitoring and evaluation
  • Advocacy, policy influencing and communications
  • Stakeholder management and liaison

The consultant would also provide other programme development support as necessary.

As the assignment will be based in Tunisia, with travel within the region and in Europe.
